Took my 06 Z51 out for a drive since it was a great day to get some driving in.
While I'm just tooling around I decide to use the HUD since I hadn't used it in a while. Not seeing it I used the up and down ***** knowing I hadn't used it in quite some time.
I adjusted it in all different ways but it wasn't seeing anything. So I thought maybe the door that controls it was stuck or had fallen off but no it was working fine.
The only thing I could get is just a faint square green light where it should show up. I even checked the fuse under the toe board and it was fine. Then looking through the windshield I looked at the HUD door and I'm hitting the up and down buttons and I see that the door is working fine.
What else can I check to see why it just quit working?
It seems that the a faint green light is working but not projecting the images on the windshield. I'm stumped how to diagnose this.
Now, there is a rock chip on the glass but has never affected the HUD before so I have never messed with filing a clam to replace the windshield glass as the chip is way below the hood line and not close to the HUD but yet on the same side. but again this chip has been there for years and not ever affected it.
You would never even notice the chip unless I pointed it out to someone.
