Just got my 2008 back from the shop from having the plugs changed and the injectors cleaned. I am not much of a mechanic so I hope to get some thoughts on this. Under 25,000 on the car and had the issue of throwing a message that said "service traction control system" about a year ago. I drive the car very little over the last few years. Just back it out to use the garage, and them put in back in. I suspect that is very hard on it. Well after changing the plugs and wires a year or so ago, (did it myself since the dealer wanted $800 to change them in as the first step in getting the service traction code and miss to go away). After I changed the plugs the problems went away and I was going to just get the injectors cleaned as there was a code that indicated one was bad or fouled. Well just before taking it in last week, the service traction came on and the miss started again. Took it in for mechanic to clean injectors. He called and said plugs 2 and 6 were fouled with oil. After talking with him a while, he said he thought that the way I was just moving the car in and out and not driving it was letting the car not warm up, and oil not burn off the valves.. Then the oil would drain down the valve and get into the cyclinder the next time I started the car. Said I should drive the car more, changed the plugs, and said the alternative was removing the heads and replacing the washers(?) around the valves. Said they may be dried out and letting the motor run more would keep them lubed and burn off the excess oil. Does all this seem reasonable??

As I was leaving, he also said that I should add cheap automatic transmission fluid to the gas tank about once per year to help keeps the seals lubed. About 1/2 a can of fluid to a tank of gas. Does this make sense? Thought I would ask here to see if anyone else does this.

Thanks, in advance for any comments.
