I noticed a small oil drop under the rear differential of my car. It leaks about a drop every 3 days or so.
I got under it and the whole bottom of the trans was grimey, so I cleaned it all off and drove it for a about 4 weeks without seeing any drops then saw another one so I got under it again.
I could not narrow down where it is coming from.
I see oil collected at the front and rear seam of the trans see below. (Circled in blue)
There is oil on the top rear of the trans/rear diff area by the blue plug (drivers side, it is not on the passenger side), my guess is it is coming from around there.
The oil looks more like motor oil to me than gear oil, but I could be wrong. It is not red.
Any thoughts on what needs to be fix, this is a 05 , 6 speed, 57k miles.
