I recently had my HUD fail on my 05 Vert. It appeared to be an electrical issue as opposed to a mechanical issue with the mirror. I researched the HUD fitment for various years and I found the following:
2005. GM Part Number 10376566
2006 - 2008 GM Part number 15934351 and 10392152
2009 - 2013 GM Part Number 25788254
I read on one of the threads all the above parts number were the same but could only find one thread that mentioned this. I obtained an HUD unit from a 2011, installed it and it works fine with all display items working properly.
I ended up removing the dash (which I should of done in the first place) after a failed attempt to pull the gauge cluster and cut the large air vent duct. I found in order to lift the unit over the studs I was placing way too much pressure on the windshield and in rare cases others have cracked their windshield. Removing the dash was not difficult, I just took my time, took pictures and kept a lot of notes.
