Help with broken wires

Recently The belt broke on the car and I replaced the belt, but now the car won't start. There's 2 wires hanging 1's purple 1's green. Not many mobile mechanics offer free diagnostics and the last 2 that I ended up paying to come. Look at the car were clueless and I was out money. Please help.
