Yeah, if that ain't a clickbait title I don't know what is, sorry about that.
2010 base. I've had it a few months now, and the wife has been complaining it's too loud when I start it up in the morning to go to work.
I've figured it had some sort of aftermarket exhaust on it - the tips aren't like other C6s I've seen, there's no gap between the two center tips and the outboard protrude a little more:
Last week I took it in for its first oil change, and asked if I could get up under the lift and take a look. I was hoping it was some name brand fancy muffler that someone would be happy to trade for something quieter. You won't believe what I saw! (sorry again, I've read too many clickbait articles lately)
Nope. The muffler is "no muffler". I took pics but half of them came out blurry and the other half don't show anything useful.
Since the pictures suck, it's essentially directly over the diff into o'reilly bend tubing and directly to the tips. My *assumption*, for what that's worth, is that everything ahead of the diff is intact.
I'm vaguely sure that this is an NPP car - or at least the sticker in the glove box thinks so - but I didn't see any plugs or cables or connectors that looked to be unused. Where would the NPP connector be? My preference at this point would be to just get an NPP muffler and call it good. Do people sell just used mufflers without the rest of the system?
