Have not had the pleasure yet of approaching speed bumps in my Grand Sport but will this weekend I'm planning a trip to the lake where the campsite has speed bumps. Nothing extreme just your normal speed bumps you would see in a shopping center. I researched a few threads on this subject found the following:
Quote:
The front air dam is three inches from the ground.
Quote:
Just remember that the air dams are designed to scrape.

As said before the air dam is designed to scrape without significant damage. I scrape quite often and, at 20K miles, still can't see any damage. If I go to the effort of getting down on the ground and reaching back under there the left and right sides feel rough and are feathered a little. The center section which is much softer feels totally smooth as if it had never scraped anything.
BTW, mine sits at 3 1/4".I went out and looked/measured my car and I guess I was getting lost in the terminology of the car parts based on the above statements. I'm assuming the Deflector Assy is the Air Dam that is reference above at 3 1/4"
My Valance Panel is 3 3/4" from the ground.
My Deflector Assy is 2 1/8" from the ground.
I consider my driveway to be normal, but I do get some very minor scraping when exiting but nothing when entering. Not sure if it's the Valance or Deflector that is scraping. Do my above measurements look normal, to my knowledge the car is OEM stock as delivered.
Thanks
Dennis
