My question is this. Are the aftermarket fobs worth a crap? I reprogrammed mine today because I wanted the OEM fob to set the seat memory. My other OEM fob acted flakey when I first got the car. Battery was new but had an issue within a week where I had to get in from the trunk. For some reason it is draining the coin battery I believe. There was another fob that is aftermarket that came with it and had it programmed for number 2. I could swear it was working before.
Today after I reprogged the aftermarket key, it shows up no fob detected. I then went through the short program to add as no 3 just to see if something went awry and after sticking it in the slot got the message that it was already recognized. But it will not start the car even when it's in the slot. I'm sort of paranoid that I only have one fob that I trust and wondering do I just spend the extra to get an OEM? Any advice is appreciated.
