Why is the McLaren MP4-12C the Rodney Dangerfield of supercars?

IMO, because all the early reviews were done by people that never 'got' the car. The 12C at some point, IMO, out NSX, the original NSX.

The 12C, on modern tires, with all the updates, is STILL a competitive modern super car, with few models that really compete with it. And in my opinion, it's still the only super car that is understated and still clearly looks like a super car. A difficult design accomplishment. Maybe the T.33 also manages that today...
