Tire Woes

When I bought my C6 427 Vert in 2021 it still had the original Michelin Pilot Sport ZP tires on it. Aside from their age, I like to use my car year round and while we don't get much snow it is often below 40 degrees. I replaced the tires with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 A/S ZP's and have been very happy with them.

Coming back from the Corvette Takeover in Princeton, NJ I picked-up a small nail (in the tread area). My DIC informed me of low tire pressure as pulled into my garage. I removed the tire/wheel and was visually able to find the culprit. Simple - now just need to get it repaired. I wanted it patched from the inside, not plugged. The tires were purchased from Tire Rack and installed by a local installer - who did a fine job. They were my first stop - sorry, they only plug tires. OK, Plan B - There is a fairly large local tire store chain, Mavis Discount Tires, that is a Michelin dealer - they were my next stop. Oh, ZP tire? Sorry, corporate policy that we don't repair ZP tires. Huh? I researched this before I set out and Michelin authorizes a single repair to their ZP tires.

So now I'm stuck having to call around to find someone willing to do the repair - this is ridiculous. I did e-mail Mavis and expressed my displeasure, but that hasn't gotten me any further ahead.

What has been your experience with Michelins or just ZP tires in general. I know some hate them, but I think they are terrific and what the car was designed to use.
